Indian Music & Consciousness
Quantum physics, music, spirituality and well-being are all now intertwined with modern science and cultural beliefs. This is surely a time of wonder as science evolves and conciseness is becoming more broad. Quantum physics has changed all of the basic assumptions of Newtonian physics and our world of reality. It shows that the quantum world is interconnected with consciousness and the physical world. It has lent itself to hundreds of new theories and observations from consciousness to entanglement.
In Indian culture and reflections of it around Asia you will find an ancient understanding of the universe with a different symbolic language to Mathematics, yet describing the same concepts with great accuracy. Again and again around the world traditional views of the universe start to connect through the newly found medium of quantum physics. Meditation and yoga are an important part of that culture, and also to Indian classical music through its influences. We find there the subtle system whose understanding has developed and evolved for thousands of years.
Modern quantum physics has established that space itself has structure and is not empty, dark matter and many other theories now reflect on ancient knowledge, joining in a contemporary dance of newly found awareness.. The study of Chakra energies is directly related to quantum Physics, and complemented by documents and papers of modern research. A long awaited matrimony of spirituality and science has finally begun.
According to the system of Nada Yoga the universe took its origin from a sound projection. Nada (intonation) that can be physical (ahata) or; in its sublime form the subtle domains of the mind (anahata). Na refers to prana and da refers to fire. In Indian philosophical practice, sound is intrinsically related to consciousness, and the term Nada may also imply a flow of consciousness.
The Indian system of music makes such a great connection between the microcosm and macrocosm where the great secrecy of ultimate nature unbinds on its own. If one listens properly, the whole world has tempo and notes. Different notes signify different natures of activities, and activities of nature surrounding. Midnight’s mood has a different tempo, mid-day has another and a morning may differ also.
Music is a universal language, it influences all levels of human existence and is a medium for communication. Music can be both a pleasant and a healing experience. Modern science and medicine are now rediscovering the healing powers of music, the specialized use of music in treating persons with special needs in mental and physical health, rehabilitation and special education is now trending.
Ragas (scales) of Indian classical music are in nature and design an expression of different emotions, activating specific emotions through what we can now call a quantum physical process It is now a fact in science that our very thoughts and attitudes affect matter and energy, so then musical vibrations transfer information via many means including the subtle system, to our brain and internal organs that cause them to react in a certain way.
Music stimulates the brain in a myriad of forms causing neurons and signals to fire, activating enhanced depth and perceptual sensitivity thus enlightening the heart. In effect music is a therapeutic tool, ICM due to its natural evolvement has a refined and specific effect. The ancient musicologists and mystics of India, who developed sound therapy, observed that Sound has an invincible power. Nothing is an exception to its laws of natural harmony. Sound therapy is an arrangement of sounds, in a specific order and design, to invoke different vibrational states that influence our very DNA.
We may find in our current way of life for many reasons that aspects of our health function incorrectly, through lack of correct nourishment or power. Various organs and bodily functions may decay in their functioning which creates physical imbalance in the body so consequently the mind. Emotional and mental imbalance are affected by your state of being, when the energy, vibrations and frequency of Indian classical music scales match with the energy, vibrations and frequency of the cause, it prompts a wellbeing state of mind which boosts the immune system to work more effectively. In turn elevating your consciousness.
