DubwiZe is a band that celebrates the diversity of many musical cultures, harmoniously fused together while retaining their essential roots.
In keeping with the open and dynamic feel of the band, performers come and go from various genres and traditions making every gig unique.
A kaleidoscope of ethnic sounds with a predominant roots Reggae & Dub feel, this is an enlightenment not to be missed!
Ranging from two to over twenty members as in the debut line-up, impromptu guest singers, musicians and jam sessions make DubwiZe a people’s band for the people.
Born and raised on the London music scene in the 60’s, Kyp soaked up the multi-cultural scene learning many languages on the way and is now currently involved with many diverse musical projects. Kyp spent a large part of his youth in Reggae shabins and following sound systems like Shaka, Coxsone, Apple, Mafia and many more as in the 70’s London was pumping with the Reggae bass.
DubwiZe reflects the freedom of the dub movement and spiritual essence of Rastafari with love & oneness.
Kyp has brought his understanding and experience of people together in an expression of modern consciousness under the banner of DubwiZe
The original line-up 2005
Kyp visited Jamaica for Bob Marleys funeral as a pilgrim and later spent many years in Rastafarian Nyabinghi drum circles.
The second line-up with guest musicians from Pakistan & India at Ameretti village for Earth day celebrations 2006.
